Camp Hot Shots is run by an all-volunteer team of professionals. One hundred percent (100%) of all contributions are tax deductible and stay in our community to empower youth and parents to understand and live with Type 1 Diabetes.

The incidence of Type 1 Diabetes rises every year among children in our communities, and by delivering on-going educational programs, Hot Shots can provide a continuum of care for our youth. Statistics show, that through education and control we can reduce the complications and lower healthcare costs.

With your support and generous contributions, Hot Shots can continue to offer education, programs and day camps in an effort to reduce complications, lower healthcare costs and empower our youth to manage Type 1 Diabetes!

Statistics:

  • 18.2 million children and adults in the United States have diabetes according to federal statistics. Over 800,000 have Type 1 Diabetes. Diabetes costs have sky rocketed to over $132 billion dollars annually in terms of healthcare expenses and lost productivity.

  • Poorly managed diabetes can lead to severe complications including stroke, blindness, blood vessel disease and heart attacks.

  • Through Hot Shots education and awareness programs, if children and parents learn to keep their blood glucose level as close to normal as possible, they can reduce their risk of developing complications by 50 percent or more.
