Peg Struebing | PA-C

Peg has been a member of the Med Staff at Camp Hot Shots for over 15 years. As a Physician Assistant she worked in family practice for 10 years before joining the Endocrinology Department at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1985. There her patients were primarily adults with Diabetes and other Endocrine Disorders. This was her opportunity to “specialize” in Diabetes and she was also in charge of the insulin pump program. In 1999 Peg left the Med Center to work directly with pump patients as a clinical liaison to the sales team at Medtronic Diabetes. In this position she was able to work with all ages of people with diabetes and especially enjoyed her interaction with children and their families. When an opportunity to join the Endocrinology Department at Children's Hospital & Medical Center, she was fortunate to be chosen for that position. Peg is very pleased to be back in clinical practice.

From Peg:

Pediatrics is so rewarding, though challenging, and I plan to stay here until I retire ~ though no time soon. I cannot, however, imagine ever retiring from Camp Hot Shots, so you can plan on seeing me at camp for many years to come!

I am married to Mike and we have three daughters Erin, Amy and Emily, one son-in-law Tyler, and two adorable Grandsons: Connor and Elijah. My family has also been involved in the diabetes community and has enjoyed visiting and volunteering at camp and other activities and events over the years.
