Emily and Jared Most
Emily - Camp Counselor
My name is Emily Most and I have been an active volunteer counselor and board of director’s member for Camp Hot Shots since 2012. In 2019, I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree from Creighton University. I currently teach 3rd grade students in a public-school district. I am working on earning my Master’s Degree in the specialist areas of English as a Second Language and School Leadership. I look forward to spending time at Camp Hot Shots every summer by mentoring our campers and encouraging them to take charge of their diabetes.
Jared - Motion and Graphic Design
My name is Jared Most, and I’ve had the privilege of volunteering with Camp Hot Shots since 2019. I moved to Omaha, Nebraska in March of 2019 to continue pursing my bachelor’s degree at UNO as a motion and graphic designer. I graduated in the spring of 2021, and I am looking forward to applying my education to help make camp stand out in a digital context. I specialize in 2D motion graphics and love video post-production.
Camp Hot Shots has been an exciting new part of my life. I began volunteering for the camp as a designer as well as other miscellaneous work. I was immediately given a warm welcome from the camp administrators and counselors, and I felt like I had instantly found a whole new friend group. The team that makes camp happen is extremely dedicated to not only hosting a summer camp for kids with diabetes, but also building the camper’s confidence so they feel empowered to handle their diabetes independently. I was very impressed with all the people I worked alongside, and I sincerely enjoyed volunteering my time in such a positive and uplifting environment.
